Grab a couple t-shirts or pair of jeans and

scissors!We will be making dog and cat toys :)

T-shirt Cat/Dog Toy(Recycling)

Participants can make either a dog or a cat toy that will get donated to the Humane Society or similar shelter. The toys will be created out of t-shirt materials or old jeans. Please note: more cat toys are needed than dog toys.Dog Toys (Braided Toy)1. You will need 15 long t-shirt strips and 2 shorts strips to complete

this toy. (Colors don’t matter.)2. Divide the strips into 3 groups of 5. Then gather the sets of strips

at the top so you can braid them together.3. Tie all the strips together at the top with the short strip. You may

have to tie it in a knot a couple of times to make sure it’s tight.4. Braid the 3 groups of strips together until you can’t anymore.5. Use a short strip to tie the bottom like you tied the top.Cat Toys1. You will need 1 long strip and at least 6 short strips to complete

this toy. (Colors don’t matter.)2. Gather all the short strips together so they are even.3. Pinch the middle of the strips and tie them to a long strip.4. The toy should look like a long strip with a ball of strips at the

bottom.
