Save us, O Lord,

carry us back.

Rouse your power and

come.

Rescue your people;

show us your face.

Bring us back.

O Shepherd of Israel, hear us.

Return and we shall be saved.

Arise, O Lord;

hear our cries, O Lord:

bring us back!

Save us, O Lord,

carry us back.

Rouse your power and

come.

Rescue your people;

show us your face.

Bring us back.

How long will you hide from

your people?

We long to see your face.

Give ear to us.

Draw near to us.

Lord God of hosts!

Save us, O Lord,

carry us back.

Rouse your power and

come.

Rescue your people;

show us your face.

Bring us back.

Turn again; care for your vine;

protect what your right hand

has planted.

Your vineyards are trampled,

uprooted, and burned.

Come to us, Father of might!

Save us, O Lord,

carry us back.

Rouse your power and

come.

Rescue your people;

show us your face.

Bring us back.

Join us in song!

Blest Be The Lord

Blessed be the Lord,

blest be the Lord,

The God of mercy,

the God who saves.

I shall not fear

the dark of night,

Nor the arrow

that flies by day.

1. He will release me from the

snares of all my foes.

He will protect me from the

wicked hands.

Beneath the shadow of His

wings I will rejoice.

To find a dwelling place secure.

Blessed be the Lord,

blest be the Lord,

The God of mercy,

the God who saves.

I shall not fear

the dark of night,

Nor the arrow

that flies by day.

2. I need not shrink before the

terrors of the night,

Nor stand alone before the light

of day.

No harm shall come to me,

no arrow strike me down,

no evil settle in my soul.

Blessed be the Lord,

blest be the Lord,

The God of mercy,

the God who saves.

I shall not fear

the dark of night,

Nor the arrow

that flies by day.

Priest: The Lord be with

you.

People: And with your

spirit.

I confess to almighty God

and to you, my brothers and

sisters,

that I have greatly sinned,

in my thoughts and in my words,

in what I have done

and in what I have failed to do,

through my fault, through my fault,

through my most grievous fault;

therefore I ask blessed

Mary ever-Virgin,

all the Angels and Saints,

and you, my brothers and sisters,

to pray for me to the Lord our God.

Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ

King of Endless Glory

"If Today You Hear His Voice

Harden Not Your Hearts"

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church A Parish of The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego

Homily by:

Our Most Reverend Bishop Chavez

I believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of heaven and earth,

of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,

the Only Begotten Son of God,

born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light,

true God from true God,

begotten, not made

consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation

he came down from heaven,

and by the Holy Spirit

was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake

he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,

he suffered death and was buried,

and rose again on the third day

in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated

at the right hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory

to judge the living and the dead

and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,

the giver of life, who proceeds

from the Father and the Son,

who with the Father and the Son

is adored and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic

and apostolic Church.

I confess one Baptism

for the forgiveness of sins

and I look forward to the resurrection

of the dead

and the life of the world to come.

Amen

We Pray to The Lord

Longing for light,

we wait in darkness.

Longing for truth, we turn to you.

Make us your own,

your holy people,

light for the world to see.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in our hearts.

Shine through the darkness.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in your church

gathered today.

2. Longing for peace,

our world is troubled.

Longing for hope, many despair.

Your word alone

has pow’r to save us.

Make us your living voice.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in our hearts.

Shine through the darkness.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in your church

gathered today.

3. Longing for food,

many are hungry.

Longing for water, many still thirst.

Make us your bread,

broken for others,

shared until all are fed.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in our hearts.

Shine through the darkness.

Christ, be our light!

Shine in your church

gathered today.

Holy, Holy,

Holy Lord God of hosts.

Heaven and earth are full,

are full of your glory.

Hosanna! Hosanna!

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is he who comes,

who comes in the name of

the Lord.

Hosanna! Hosanna!

Hosanna in the highest.

We proclaim

your Death, O Lord,

and profess

your Resurrection

until you come again.

When we eat this Bread

and drink this Cup,

we proclaim your Death,

O Lord,

until you come again.

Save us, Save us,

Savior of the world,

for by your Cross

and Resurrection,

you have set us free.

Amen

Amen

Amen

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,

hallowed be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,

on earth, as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

For the kingdom,

the power,

and the glory

are yours,

now and forever.

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God,

behold him who takes away

the sins of the world.

Blessed are those called

to the supper of the Lamb.

All: Lord, I am not worthy

that you should enter under my roof,

but only say the word

and my soul shall be healed.

O Lord, I know you are near,

standing always at my side.

You guard me from the foe,

and you lead me in ways

everlasting.

Lord, you have searched my heart,

and you know when I sit

and when I stand.

Your hand is upon me

protecting me from death,

keeping me from harm.

O Lord, I know you are near,

standing always at my side.

You guard me from the foe,

and you lead me in ways

everlasting.

Where can I run from Your love?

If I climb to the heavens

You are there

If I fly to the sunrise

or sail beyond the sea,

still I'd find You there.

O Lord, I know you are near,

standing always at my side.

You guard me from the foe,

and you lead me in ways

everlasting.

You know my heart and its ways,

you who formed me before I was

born

in the secret of darkness

before I saw the sun

in my mother's womb.

O Lord, I know you are near,

standing always at my side.

You guard me from the foe,

and you lead me in ways

everlasting.

Marvelous to me are Your works;

how profound are Your thoughts,

my Lord.

Even if I could count them,

they number as the stars,

You would still be there.

O Lord, I know you are near,

standing always at my side.

You guard me from the foe,

and you lead me in ways

everlasting.

Blessed be God

for giving us Silviano

A man of great love,

of wisdom and strength!

In the Eucharist

and with our blessed Mother

He found the road to holiness.

Blessed be God

for giving us Silviano

A man of great vision,

a worker for peace!

In the Eucharist

and with our blessed Mother

He found the road to holiness.

Blessed be God

for giving us Silviano

A founder, a writer,

a voice for the weak!

In the Eucharist

and with our blessed Mother

He found the road to holiness.

...He found the road

to holiness.

Have mercy on me God

in your goodness

In your abundant compassion

blot out my offense

Wash away all my guilt

From my sin cleanse me

Parce Domine

parce populo tuo

ne in aeternum

irascaris nobis.

Spare your people Lord

Spare your people in your

loving kindness

Show us your mercy

We have sinned

against you Lord

1. We rise again from ashes,

from the good we’ve failed to do.

We rise again from ashes,

to create ourselves anew.

If all our world is ashes,

then must our lives be true,

an offering of ashes,

an offering to you.

2. We offer you our failures,

we offer you attempts,

the gifts not fully given,

the dreams not fully dreamt.

Give our stumblings direction,

give our visions wider view,

an offering of ashes,

an offering to you.

3. Then rise again from ashes,

let healing come to pain,

though spring has turned to winter,

and sunshine turned to rain.

The rain we’ll use for growing,

and create the world anew

from an offering of ashes,

an offering to you.

4. Thanks be to the Father,

who made us like himself.

Thanks be to his Son,

who saved us by his death.

Thanks be to the Spirit

who creates the world anew

from an offering of ashes,

an offering to you.
