VERO is an artisan chocolatier founded in Hong Kong driven by a sincere passion and a dedicated pursuit
of the world‟s highest quality chocolate. From the provenance of plantation, the grade of cacao, to our
obsession with innovation and quality, our philosophy is to raise the awareness, appreciation and entire
experience of premium chocolate. From fair trade cocoa plantations in Venezuela, to research institutes
in Malaysia, to master chocolatiers in Europe, we have scoured the globe to gather the wisdom and
resources to create the most exquisite of chocolates. VERO is on a continuous quest to bring impeccable
quality and innovative recipes to our customers. Our chocolates are handmade freshly every day in our
dedicated workshop, using a unique balance of regional and seasonal ingredients. Every ingredient is
carefully selected from around the world, with absolutely no compromise in quality. Each year VERO
releases two lines of premium chocolate bonbons; Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer collection. Each
seasonal collection boasts five skillfully blended recipes which are a reflection of individuality and
sophistication. These hand selected delicacies are a result of endless taste tests, requests from our loyal
customers, and an intensive selection and refinement process from literally hundreds of different flavours.
Today, people are beginning to notice the significant differences between industrial and premium
chocolate. Premium chocolate is rich, smooth and complex; industrial chocolate contains additives and
preservatives that make it not only waxy, gritty and overly sweet, but also is the reason that they can be
kept on a shelf for months on end. VERO‟s pure unadulterated chocolates are and crafted using only the
highest-quality all-natural ingredients, without the use of any preservatives. It is for this reason that our
freshly made chocolates have a shelf life of 2-3 weeks... then again, who has the self-control to keep
them any longer? A premium chocolatier must take into account every detail, from the percentage of the
cocoa content, the provenance of the cacao plantation, to the specie of the cacao bean. What clearly
differentiates VERO is our dedication we extend towards every client and our ability to tailor our
chocolates for personalized orders. We listen very closely to our customers, whether it is suggestions on
new flavours, or ideas on unique designs. We welcome all enquiries and handle each request with the
individuality that it deserves. As for the chocolate and packaging, technically anything is possible - the
only limit is one's imagination. VERO thrives on creativity and innovation and will never compromise the
high-quality ingredients and integrity of our chocolates. It is for this reason that many of the world‟s

SCULPTURE COLLECTION
Jeffery Koo already knew his destiny and joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Hong Kong as a trainee in the Pastry
Department under renowned Executive Pastry Chef Yves Matthey. At the age twenty three, Koo had already
demonstrated his excellence, whereby mastering all chocolate, pastry, and sugar art skills. Knowing the inevitable
stardom and potential, Koo was sent to France to work with
world famous three-Michelin-star Pierre Gagnaire (recognized as number two chef in the world). This experience in Paris
gave Koo a chance to learn new pastry making concepts, techniques, and systems creating an enriching second stage
in his professional career. Koo has created work for some of the world‟s most influential people, an example being the
Mandarin Oriental in Malaysia, where Koo was invited to work for the King‟s birthday. Others include Hong Kong‟s Chief
Executive Donald Tsang, and other local celebrities.
In 2007, Koo was invited to compete in the World Chocolate Master in China, where he received the prestigious and
highly sought after “best taste” award. Always looking to raise the bar higher, in 2008 Koo was presented with a new
exciting chapter and opportunity to broaden his professional horizons. Partnering with the luxury artisanal chocolatier
VERO, Koo was given the important role as Executive Pastry Chef, taking VERO chocolates into a new era.

EVENTS & EXPERIENCES
Lounge, gift shop, workshop, atelier, café, salon de the, desert & wine bar… these are some of the
words used to describe the new VERO „experience. The venue was inspired by famous Italian
designer Franco Costa who flew to Hong Kong from Milan especially for this project. A one of a kind
experience, where people can interact with Executive Pastry Chef Koo as he creates his new
chocolate sculptures, to new fresh recipes coming straight from the kitchen, to enjoying a wine and
chocolate pairing menu designer by our bar manager from Japan.

In our new chocolate Atelier, anything is possible. With space for 100-150 people, our centrally located new lounge
creates a unique venue for private functions with spectacular harbor views of the city. A place where anything is possible
from chocolate sculptures, to chocolate master classes, to wine & chocolate pairing events, to other innovative
gastronomic experiences second to none. An experience that will last forever.
