I acknowledge that I have received a copy of the VBS Youth Volunteer Code of Contact. In order to bring honor to myself, our church and to God, I agree to abide by these guidelines and spend an awesome week helping in VBS! I understand that if at any point I am unable to follow the expectations set forth in the Code of Conduct, someone else may be given my assignment for the remainder of the week.

VBS YOUTH VOLUNTEER CODE OF CONDUCT
(Please keep this page as a reminder of the commitment you have made to serve in Vacation Bible School at Salem Baptist Church, June 8-12, 2015.)
The purpose of Vacation Bible School to share the love of Jesus with children. As a youth volunteer in Vacation Bible School, I’m making a commitment to be a servant of God and an example of His love to kids and their families! In order to bring glory to God during VBS, I agree to:
• Focus on the children – they are my purpose for being at VBS, not to catch up with my friends! I will stick to the area where I am assigned to work and focus on my assignment, not other youth.
• Turn off my cell phone and other electronics during VBS, unless I have been
specifically assigned by an adult leader to take photos or video of my class for media purposes. I will not text or talk on the phone except during my break time, and I will not post photos of VBS children on my personal social media pages.
• Dress in a manner that is modest and mature. If I am in doubt about whether
something is appropriate to wear to VBS, I will ask an adult leader.
• Teach children to lead by being a leader and setting an example. I will walk safely, calmly and quietly as I move from place to place. I will treat all adult leaders, visitors, other youth helpers, and of course the children, with respect. I will make sure the words I use and the way I use them are polite and Christ-honoring.
• Remember that play has an appropriate time and use discernment to know the right
time. I will not roughhouse or distract children from the VBS activities that others are leading.
• Become familiar with the theme for the week and the job to which I am assigned. I will
review the memory verse and Bible story/theme focus for each day and use every opportunity to encourage the children to understand and apply them.
• Come to VBS with a positive attitude, energy, and enthusiasm. I will arrive on time and
expect to have fun at VBS!
• Comply with all policies and procedures of the church and requests of VBS adult leaders.
• Attend Youth Volunteer Training on SUNDAY, MAY 31 AT 5 PM. If I am unable to attend,
I will communicate to Trey Meek the reason for my absence and get all necessary information from him as soon as possible.
THANK YOU for taking a week out of your summer to help children learn about Jesus - I’m expecting an amazing week at VBS, and I’m so glad you’ve chosen to be a part of it! If you have any questions, please let me know.
