Updating Driver Records within the OSCER System
Training Overview
This presentation demonstrates the steps involved in updating drivers’ DOT qualification documents within the OSCER System.
The OSCER system is a database designed to help manage and track regulatory compliance of DOT drivers within EMBARQ.
Training Overview
Additional training presentations and a user’s manual are available to cover additional features and functions of the program.
These resources may be accessed from the login page.
Training Overview
There are three critical steps to successfully updating a driver’s record within the system:
– Finding a list of your drivers using one of three ways
– Reviewing and updating each driver’s data and using the “Save Button”
– Closing the driver data form and cycling through each driver’s data (as needed).
Open your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer)
Go to https://secure.safetyfirst.com/embarq
You may want to
save this link as

At that page, you’ll
enter your ID and
Password, and click
on the Login button
Finding A List of Your Drivers
At the home page of the system, you will need to access your driver data. There are three ways to do this:
– Clicking the “New Driver” button (this will highlight those drivers who are being qualified as a DOT driver for the first time)
– Clicking the “Active Driver” button (this will highlight a list of your DOT drivers)
– Using the search function to find a individual driver

The steps to access “active drivers” are similar, but the active driver screen looks slightly different:

Driver Search Function
If you are not certain of the correct spelling of a name, the system will automatically display all names starting with the same first three or more characters; however,
You can select “By Any Character” to broaden the search
Accessing Driver Data
Accessing driver data follows the same process as described for “New” OR “Active Drivers” when you have used the “Driver Search” function.
Simply click the name to access their specific data record, complete any updates, hit save and then close.
