When you guys are done arguing your opinions, I actually have Data!

• EHR vendors frequently charge for every new “feed” to a new endpoint. This gets expensive and doesn’t scale.

• MU certified EHR’s can typically send and receive CCDAs, but via limited means.

• MU certified EHRs are not yet widely supporting the growing need for query based exchange (Carequality / eHealth)

Data Blockers

• API’s (so far) have been focused around Patient queries (PHR) and other useful types of API type connectivity was left out.

• EHR data isn’t readily available for custom reporting tools such as Tableau, eliminating the ability to quickly create / response to reporting needs

• Workflow issues - even when HIE data is available, providers may not want to go to a separate portal to access the data.
