Single Family Home› are free standing, they don’t share walls

with another unit, may be one story or many, and offer housing to a single family.

Apartments--this term covers any structure that has rental units for more than 2 families

Condominium--individually owned units in a multiple-family dwelling. The owner pays a fee to cover maintaining hallways, landscaping, and other common areas.

Conservation– protecting the environment and natural resources against waste and harm

Environment– a person’s surroudings and everything in them, including both human and nonhuman factors

Energy Efficient– using less energy

Intruder– someone who uses force to get into someone else’s home

Multiple--family dwelling- a building that contains several units designed to house more than one family

Multi-tasking—fitting tasks together to make the best use of time; doing two tasks at the same time

Nonrenewable resources– natural resources that can’t replace themselves, and therefore are in limited supply

Recycle– to reprocess resources to be used again

Renewable resources– natural resources that can renew or replace themselves over time

Sanitary– being free from germs; being clean and healthy
