under the direction of Special Olympics which brings together students with and without disabilities and provides them with an environment of meaningful athletic competition

to have the model program for Unified Sports

O The concept of Unified Sports began back in the mid 1980s, but has really taken off in just the last few years

Unified Sports and FCPS

O Started in the spring of 2010 in Frederick County

O Tennis, Indoor Bocce and Track & Field

O All 10 county high schools participate during all 3 season with over 200 students participating each season

O FCPS is a leader in the state
