Default unsubscribe pages

• Only uses your default template• Will only display groups if:

• Group is marked to “display to user”• Supporter is a member of the group

• By default, it will show any chapters that the supporter is belongs to

• The “Everything. Permanently remove me from all lists.” option will change the supporters receive email value to -3 (actively unsubscribed)

Custom Unsubscribe Pages

• You choose which template to use• You choose which groups, tags and chapters you

want to potentially display on the page• Supporter must still belong to those options in order for them to

display

• Customized header and footer text• Custom redirect URL• The “Everything. Permanently remove me from all

lists.” option will change the supporters receive email value to -3 (actively unsubscribed)

Don’t forget!

Always use merge fields appended to the end of the URL for proper reporting and to avoid the email confirmation step.

Your URL should always end with this:&Email=[[Email]]&email_blast_KEY=[[email_blast_KEY]]

Getting Info on Unsubscribes

FAQ # 1:Why are there so many clicks on my unsubscribe page link in my email report, but few reported

unsubscribes?

FAQ #1 Answer:If your supporters removed themselves from a group or tag rather than completely unsubscribing from your list, they will not be counted as an “unsubscribe” on the email report.

Solution: You can do a query to find the supporters who received your email blast but are no longer in the targeted group or tag. For example, if email blast KEY 82961 targeted your Action Alerts group, you would query:

Email Status > Email KEY 82961 > Sent/Sent+Opened/Send+ClickedANDGroups > is not a member of > Action Alerts

FAQ #2: I don't think my unsubscribe page is working. I select "unsubscribe"

but nothing happens.

FAQ #2 Answer:

Sometimes the thank you message on default pages is too small to be easily noticed. This is controlled by the CSS in your Salsa website template.

Solution: Adjust the CSS in your default website template.

Alternative Solution: Use a custom unsubscribe page!

FAQ #3:A supporter has requested that I

remove them from our email list. How do I do this?

Modify their Receive Email value if they don’t want to receive any future email from you.
