Overview of Internship

• UNC Children’s Pharmacy Intern Program (UNCCPIP)• Two-year paid internship for pharmacy students• Beginning Summer after PY1 or PY2 year

• 2020-2021 will have 12 total interns (4+ available spots)

• Applicant Requirements:• Interest in learning pediatric pharmacy

operational and clinical services • Team players with a positive attitude• Flexibility

Goal Statement:

By the end of the internship, a pediatric intern should be proficient in the following:

• Learning clinical and administrative research skills

• Researching and leading process improvements

• Evaluating medication use• Improving professional development

and career planning • Mentoring others and participating in

interprofessional collaboration

• Pediatric Pharmacy Operations:• Compounding Sterile IVs• Delivering Medications• Triaging phone calls and

medication messages• Assisting the pharmacist(s) and
