OurBusinessBasedinCambridge(UK)GreenEnergyOptions(geo)specialiseinthedesign,manufactureandsupportofenergymanagementdisplayandinformationsystemsfordomesticmarketsacrossEuropeandAustralasia.Ourfocusishelpingconsumersunderstandandmanagetheirdomesticenergy(andwater)consumption.Assuchwedesign,manufactureandsupportconsumerproducts.Establishedin2006geoisnowoneoftheleadinghomeenergymanagementsystemcompaniesintheworldhavingsoldwellover3millionsystems.WithmajorcontractstosupplytheUKsmartmeteringprogramme,multipleconnectedhomecontractsandagrowingdistributionchannelthecompanyislookingforwardtoaperiodofsubstantialgrowth.

GEOtakesprideinhelpingtodevelopthemarket,introducingnewideasandtakinginnovativeapproaches.To-datethishasbeenverymuchproductfocused,however,themarketisnowlookingforenergyrelatedinformationservicesanddata-drivenloyaltyplatforms.Wehaveintroducedourfirst“app-cessory”,aresteadilybuildingusernumbersforour“energynote”platformandaredevelopingacrowdcontentinformationservice.Dataservicesarethereforesettobecomeamajorcomponentofthisbusiness.

ThePosition:Weliketostartfromtheuser’sperspective–andthisisnoeasytask.Energyisoutofsightandsooutofmind,whichmeansthisisverynearlyagreenfieldareaforprovidinguserinformationandfeedback.Wehaveconductedalotofuserresearchandcontinuetogatherfeedbackfromourmostcurrentproductsandservices.Wefindthataspeoplelearn,sotheirneedsandexpectationschange,whichmeansthisisaconstantlyevolvingtopic.

Ourscurrentlyisasmallteamandthepurposeofthispositionistoprovidecoreexpertiseonuserfocuseddesignspanningthewholeuserexperience.Youwillbeakeymemberofourcreativeteamandbeexpectedtohelpwiththedesignandspecificationofuserinterfacesforourhardwareanddigitalproductsandservices.

• Carefullydesigninguserinteractionsandcommunicatingideastoprojectteamsthroughwireframesandprototypes

• AdheringtointernalstyleguidesaswellasplatformspecificguidelinesforiOSandAndroid

• DocumentingtheUIandUXfordevelopmentandsystemtesting• ProvidingUIassetsfordevelopment• ProvideUXinputintothedevelopmentofphysicalproductswherephysicalanddigital

componentsinteract

ExperienceEssential:

• MinimumofBScorequivalentinHCIordesignrelateddegree• ExperiencedesigningUIandUXacrossdigitalplatforms• Astrongportfolioofwork,includingUXdeliverablesandUIdesigns• Proactiveinidentifyingandsolvinginteractionissues• Experienceworkinginorwithsoftwaredevelopmentteams• Theabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywiththedesign,seniormanagement,
