„THE TREASURE OF PANAGYURISHTE“

Which will be held on 30th September – 1st October 2017 in Arena Asarel, Panagyurishte, BULGARIA

Under the patronage of the “Golden girl” from the Bulgarian national ensemble in rhythmic gymnastics – Hristiyana Todorova.

Hrissi has participated in and won numerous awards and prizes, among which: 3rd place at Moscow 2010 World Championship, 1st place at Montpellier 2011 WC, 2nd place at Nijni Novgorod 2012 European Championship,1st place at Kalamata 2011 WC, 1stplace at Sofia 2012 WC, 6th place at London 2012 Olympic Games,1st place at Baku 2014 EC, 1st place at Minsk 2014 WC, 1st place at Izmir 2014 WC, 1st place at Tashkent 2015 WC, 3rd place at the Summer

Olympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016.

Information on the regulations, age groups, accommodation, and all the other information will provided soon. We would like to point out that by the

start of the tournament, facilities which are near the sports hall and which will accommodate 200 people will be completed!

Below,we have provided information on the places of interest in the town of Panagyurishte, which you will have the chance to visit and enjoy if you take part

in our tournament.

The town of Panagyurishte is located in a mountenous region. In the vicinity of the town there are dozens of Thracian mounds. In one of them, the Marble mound, the tomb of a Thracian chief was excavated. Not far from that mound, in 1949, the now world-famous Treasure of Panagyurishte, dating back to the 4th-3rd century BC and made of pure gold, was found. Copies of the nine unique items - a phiale, an amphora and seven rhytons – are exhibited in the History Museum in the town, and the originals tour the country and the whole world.

At the History Museum, there is also an exhibition dedicated to the April Uprising, displaying original relics connected with that heroic epic of April 1876

The venue where the tournament will take place is ‘Arena Arsenal’, a multi-functional sports hall. This venue can seat 2000 spectators, and has been designed in accordance with the latest trends in architectural design and furnishing of indoor sports facilities.

Another attraction in the town is the fountain – one of its kind in Bulgaria – whose music and the movement of the water jets are synchronized using the latest, cutting-edge software in the world. The same technology is used for the synchronization of the ‘singing fountains’ in Dubai and Barcelona, as well as of the ‘dancing fountains’ in Bellagio, Las Vegas. The fountain is just outside ‘Arena Arsenal’ Sports Hall.
