■ Widely varied across the respondents from a high of

nearly $300,000 to as low as $1,000 or in some cases

$0.

This is dependent on training funds requested from and

approved by the department.

Suggests there is a lack of consistency in training approaches

across agencies.

Needs will vary across agencies. Some may require more

training than others depending on the scope of supports

provided.

■ Supervisor training funding is much lower by

comparison, varying from $0 to $27,000.

Summary Considerations

■ With some slight exceptions, training appears to be generally available

across the regions.

■ Proficiency of staff is desired in every training area. However, training does

not appear to take place to that level despite availability.

■ Areas to consider for further analysis:

Concentration of responses in Winnipeg may skew results toward greater

training availability that may be more challenging in other regions.

Despite potential concentration, proficiency levels remain largely at

Advanced Beginner.

Depth of training may be a factor in terms of:

Employee turnover

Budgetary considerations.

Replacement workers for those on training, including additional wages.
