WASHINGTON‐OnDecember1,PublicProperties,LLC,aWashington,DCcommercialrealestatefirm,presenteditssecondcheckfor$12,500toJakeWood,presidentofTeamRubiconDisasterRelief[www.teamrubiconusa.org],aveteranbasednon‐profitorganizationformedthedayaftertheHaitiearthquakeinJanuary,2010.

Sincethatfirstdeployment,TeamRubiconhassentmedicalmissionstoearthquakevictimsinChile,providedmedicaltrainingtorefugeesontheThai/Burmaborder,andreachedouttothousandsoffloodvictimsinPakistanindesperateneedoforalrehydrationtherapy,whenothergroupscouldnotorwouldnotenterthecountry.

Acceptingthecheck,Wood,adecoratedMarineveteranwhoservedtoursinIraqandAfghanistan,expressedhisgroup’sappreciationforPublicProperties’support,“TeamRubiconisexcitedtopartnerwithPublicProperties,astheywerethefirstcorporationtotakeachanceonafledglingorganizationinwhichtheysawtremendouspotential.Wehopethatthisisonlythebeginningofalongandmutuallybeneficialrelationship.”

The$12,500donationwasthesecondhalfofa$25,000commitmentfromPublicProperties,madesixmonthsago,whichnotonlyincludedfinancialsupport,butmentoringandfutureofficespacetohelpcoordinateTeamRubicon’shumanitarianmissionsaroundtheworld.
