A touchscreen is an electronic visual display that the user can control by touching it.

The touchscreen enables the user to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than using a mouse touchpad or any other intermediate device

Simple user interfaces, which are more easy to use. (iPhone once again is a good example).

Touchscreen devices have fewer buttons .

No extra peripherals are needed.

DISADVANTAGES

Big screen leads to low battery life.

Screens get very dirty.

These devices require massive computing power which leads to slow devices and low battery life.

More expensive than alternative devices.

Though the touch screen technology contains some limitations but it’s very user friendly, fast, accurate, easy for the novices & fun to operate.
