avoidance; Assets in ‘B’ and other irrevocable trusts; Assets in entities such as LLC’s and Corporations; and
Assets in Family Limited Partnerships. However, these same investors may not be completely aware of the

Thursday Insights for August 2016
2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
August 4, 2016 – The Bucket Plan® - Segmenting Your Money Based on Purpose and Time Horizon;
Presented by John L. Jenkins, AEP, EA, CFP®
The two biggest risks to a systematic withdrawal plan are inflation, and something known as "sequence-of-
returns risk". Sequence-of-returns risk is the risk of receiving lower or negative returns early in a period when
withdrawals are made from an individual's underlying investments. The order or sequence of investment returns
is a primary concern for retirees who are living off the income and capital of their investments.
Another misconception we see is people think that legacy planning is “just for the kids.” However, legacy
planning is actually MOST important for the surviving spouse. Going from married to single tax brackets, the
standard deduction is cut in half, marginal brackets shrink, and overall taxes go up dramatically. Added to
which, losing one of the two Social Security payments and potential pensions, income is almost always reduced
as well. So taxes go up and income goes down for a surviving spouse.
August 11, 2016 – The Top 5 Mistakes to Avoid When Helping Your Clients with Senior Care Planning;

lack information or resources necessary to coordinate care, thus looking to healthcare providers and estate
planning professionals for guidance. Not all care – or budgets - are created equal. Jatana and Scott will break it
down in a way that will allow you to provide accurate information and relevant resources for each of your
family caregiver clientele.
August 18, 2016 – Understanding Property and Casualty Insurance – Your First Line of Defense;
presented by Mark Miletello, LUTCF, General Agent and Lauren Bottger, Multiple-Line Agent
Property & Casualty (home, auto, etc.) insurance has become so commoditized that many insurance companies
lead customers to believe they can properly structure their insurance online directly. This strategy significantly
undercuts insurance's role as one of the most important ways consumers can ensure lifelong financial security.
We want to help you understand the importance of P&C insurance as the foundation of a strong financial house!
August 25, 2016 – The Biggest Boogie Man for Baby Boomers and Beyond; Presented by Rich Kupetsky,
CLTC, SVP, Capitas Long Term Care and Scott Stewart, Esq.
When planning for retirement, the primary focus for most of our clients is to determine how much income they
will need to maintain their style of living. And if they are really on top of it, they may have created a trust to
maintain control of their assets at incapacity or after death. Too often, however, our clients do not discuss or
plan for the very probably fact that at least one spouse is going to need long-term care. How will they pay for it
and not leave the well-spouse impoverished? Join Rich and Scott as they do a deep dive into several payment
options you might not have realized were options at all!
