Why is it important for the counselors to meet with you?

Assembly Bill 1802 increased funding for counseling at the middle and high school levels.

Counselors are required to meet with all 7th and 8th grade students to discuss student records and future educational goals.

We want all of you to be successful students and to think about your future. Middle school is a stepping stone to high school.

Knowledge is Power!!

The Middle School RecordAll of you have a cumulative record here at school that includes the following:

GradesHow do you calculate your GPA (Grade Point

Average)? A = 4 pts B = 3 pts C = 2 pts D = 1 pt F = 0 pts

Look at your grades for each class: add up the points. Then divide the sum by the number of classes.

You need a 3.5 to be on the honor roll.

You need a 4.0 to be on the principal’s list.
