HOLY SPIRIT RETREAT DAY NEW Testimonials from ALPHA Participants
I’m so thankful for being able to come to ALPHA.
I started with a tingling in my face and hands. I started crying then went from cold to very warm and a sense of peace and love
I felt a feeling of overwhelming joy when asking the Holy Spirit to come to me.
I have been given strength to spend time with God in prayer. There is peace in my heart.
It was so uplifting even though I was crying throughout. I felt so alive.
An overwhelming feeling of knowing that God loves me and that the people in ALPHA love me, really love me, just as I am.
I felt the warmth of the Spirit when being prayed over.
A very beautiful experience. I am so thankful for the changes God is making in me. Give your life to Jesus…don’t wait
God certainly showed His Spirit with our group! Prayers were answered!
When I closed my eyes, opened my hands and prayed for the Holy Spirit to come, I felt a cool, peaceful presence enter my body. I felt it every time I asked for the Holy Spirit.
ALPHA is certainly not the only means by which Christ can draw closer to us, but it is proving to be a reliable way by which people can renew their commitment to Him as more intentional disciples. Some of the testimonies above underscore that becoming more aware of Christ’s love and mercy for us is a moving experience. Feelings are a vital part of our being truly human, but Alpha provides experiences that go more deeply than emotions. The meals and table conversations provide an opportunity for participants to become friends with each other and with Christ who also has a seat at those tables. We will conduct our next Alpha at the end of the summer. It is never too early to let Margaret know that you would like to take part. In the meantime, pray for the continuing success of Alpha!

A PRAYER FOR THE INFIRM & HOMEBOUND Dear Lord, we commend to you all our infirm and
homebound brothers and sisters. Please give them and their caregivers
every grace and blessing.
THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT WWW.STANDREWMOORE.COM MARCH 19, 2017
For a Christian, everything is prayer.
Focus Every activity can be transformed into prayer.
Act Offer each hour or activity of your day to God as a prayer for a specific intention. Set an alarm to go off each hour. Take a deep breath and lift the coming hour up to God. Ten seconds at the beginning of each hour will change your life.
Pray Lord, help me to transform my life into prayer. Inspire me to bring meaning into everything I do so that my presence in the world may elevate and transform ordinary, everyday things.
What is an ordinary activity that you can transform into a prayer?
STEWARDSHIP of PRAYER
a commitment to discipleship
TAIZE PRAYER
In the words of St Pope John Paul II
Taizé prayer is like being beside a spring of water. The traveler stops, quenches his thirst and continues on his way. The prayer does not want to keep you. But rather, in prayer, song and silence, to enable you to drink the living water promised by Christ, to know his joy, to discern his presence, to respond to his call, then to set out again to witness to his love and to serve your brothers and sisters.
TUESDAY, MARCH 28th 7PM St Francis Chapel
Everyone is Welcome.
REMEMBER! IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT FOOD
RESISTING
HAPPINESS Book Study
Every person 14 years of age or older is asked to abstain from meat (and items made with meat) on Good Friday, and all the Fridays of Lent.
Persons between the age of 18 and 59 (beginning of 60th year) are asked to fast on Good Friday.
When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together do not equal a full meal. You may fast on other days as well as it may serve your Lenten goals.
