Condensation

The water droplets on the mirror are a form of condensation.

When water droplets come together they form clouds. This is an example of condensation.

Condensation occurs when water vapor decreases in temperature and changes into a liquid.

Precipitation

Usually, precipitation comes down in the form of snow and rain.

This is a diagram of precipitation’s role in the water cycle.

Precipitation occurs when

there is so much water

accumulated in the clouds that

gravity pulls the water to earth.

SurfaceRunoff

This is a picture of overflowing water running through a field. This is an example of surface runoff.

This is a diagram that shows common ways of surface runoff.

Surface Runoff is

when water flows downhill

eventually returning to the ocean.

Infiltration/Percolation

This diagram shows how the water is percolating through the soil. This is an example of percolation.

Infiltration/ Percolation is where water seeps into the

ground; moving through the soil

removes impurities.

Ground Water
