Have you ever wondered what it takes to be aCircus Clown? Richard Melendy, Big Top the Clown,will instruct children about the basics of circusclowning. Clown make-up, clown character devel-opment, comic movement, pantomime, physicalcomedy (tumbles & pie throwning), juggling andplate spinning, skit developement, & overall the-atrical skills will be taught. Each child will developehis or her own clown face and character. At the end

of the workshop, children will have the opportunityto display their newly acquired skills in a circusclown show for parents and friends. Towels, old t-shirts and pants are recommended. Studentsshould bring a snack & a drink for each day. Thesecond day, students should wear clothes theydon’t mind getting stained, including towels for thepie fight and the clown makeup session.Tuesday - Wednesday, 10 am - 1 pm July 3-14
