The Steps Of MitosisBy: Travis Tricker

Interphase Longest stage usually. This is when the

cell starts to make proteins.

Growth and Preparation Growth and preparation is where the cell

makes more proteins and grows.

DNA Replication Cell breaks down and then DNA

becomes a copy.

Continued Growth and Prep Spindle fibres start to appear,

Early phrophase/Mitosis Chromosomes start to roll up tight and

become lines.

Nuclear membrane starts to disappear.

Phrosphase Spindle fibres move to the poles of the

cell and the nucleolus, and the chromosomes duplicate to an X shape.

Spindle fibres grab chromosomes.

Metaphase The spindle fibres then pull the

chromosomes into the middle of the cell.

Anaphase The spindle fibres keep pulling and

takes half of the chromosomes with them and the cell starts to stretch

Telophase In this phase the cell moves slowly apart

to make to new cells.

Cytokinesis The coiled up chromosomes start to

unwind, and then it starts to unwind into chromatin.

Final Stage The one parent cell becomes two

daughter cells.
