ThioethersQ 0580 The First Broad Application of Alkynyl Sulfides as Dienophiles in Cobalt(I)-Cat-

alyzed Diels—Alder Reactions. — CoBr2(dppe)/ZnI2/Zn is found to be an efficient catalyst for the Diels—Alder reaction of aryl alkynyl sulfides with acyclic 1,3-dienes. With alkynyl sulfoxides and sulfones the cycloadducts are obtained in low yields. The regioselectivity of the cycloaddition is controlled by steric effects. — (HILT*, G.; LUEERS, S.; HARMS, K.; J.
