The Christmas Tree Project

We recycled discarded Christmas trees into canes and walking sticks. Over four months, we:

Collected the trees, minus their branches,Stripped off the bark (a long, tedious process!),Sanded the trunks smooth,Stained the trunks,Applied four coats of urethane, andGlued a compass into the top.

Our NumbersOur club helped us to learn many ways to become

“green” and how to bring that knowledge to our community of family and friends.

We have recycled over 28 kg of paper (approximately 61 lbs) from our school and church

building.

Eight Christmas trees have found a “new usefulness” and have been transformed

into canes and walking sticks.

Moving Forward

We hope that our efforts

may inspire others to become

Stewards of the Environment,

too!
