Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great
Christmas and your New Year was a fun
celebration with family and friends. 2017 is
here and new beginnings are happening all
around us. As the winter season creeps in and
we find ourselves snuggling up around a warm
fire sipping on hot chocolate, remember to be
thankful for everything and continue to be a blessing to others
throughout the year. The rewards are unbelievable.
My wish for you all is that your heart be filled with peace, love and
joy and your bank accounts are full and overflowing.
A positive life quote just for you-
“Whoever loves much, performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well.”– Vincent Van Gogh When we are active in the chamber our love shines for the community and surrounding area we live in.
For those of you that have been thinking about joining the chamber;
this is a good time. The year is just beginning and there are many
events already on the calendar. We need your help to make these
events a success! The chamber is a great place to network, meet
new people and grow your business. I encourage you not to wait,
the time is now!!
Keeping in step with progress!!
Blessings,

Member News
Our members have been busy spreading cheer.
Thanks to the employees at Evonik Corporation,
we are saluting them for their efforts and
commitment to our Thanksgiving Food Drive.
We could provide over 125 families: a turkey and
a box of canned goods and items to help
celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving throughout
our community. The employees at Evonik
donated back turkeys to charitable organizations.
Upon the donations from Evonik employees, we
could provide food for those in need. Thanks to
everyone who participated and remember giving
comes from the heart and Evonik Industries has
proven to be thinking of others during the
holidays.

Tillman's Corner Area Learning Leadership program was established to encourage and enable future leaders of our
Community. It is our great pleasure to introduce our third class of T.A.L.L. students that were chosen by their submitted
applications and letters of recommendation. Through their hard work, volunteerism and dedication to this program these
students are developing opportunities to meet business men and woman that are mentoring them through the processes of
their future endeavors. By completion of this program these students have had the opportunity to be eligible for scholarships
and open door opportunities to be successful in the work force. Join us in Congratulating our 2016 Tillman's Corner Area
Learning Leadership Class. It has been a pleasure getting to know each of these students. They come from diverse
backgrounds and different area schools, but one thing is for certain their goals are all the same. Finish school attend college
and go on to be leaders in their own communities. The have had many hours together learning more about the world in
which they live in today. Beginning with a lecture from Eric Rickey a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones, Jeff Brinson a
certified Sales Coach at Southwestern Consulting to visiting the City Council Pre-Council meetings and learning the daily
operations from Mr. John Williams. His continual commitment to this program has made it a success. The Mayor also gave us
an opportunity to sit down and discuss the importance of Leadership with our students. They toured the Evonik Corporation
and learned about job safety and product management. The experience and mentors these students have received in such a
short time has been priceless. They have volunteered with the Chamber over 600 hours and enjoyed many activities over the
past 4 months. If you know any High School Junior, please ask them to sign up for the 4th class coming up in the Spring of
2017. We are also looking for more companies to be Mentors of this program and we need your help by contacting the
Chamber office if interested. Financial Sponsors are also welcome if you're interested in donating to this Scholarship
Program please contact Tina Poiroux at tpoiroux.tccc@bellsouth.net.
