The Capital Club Supports US Charities
By Rachael Hesling
Established in 1980 as a social organization in Washington, DC, the Capital Club has since grown into one of the most recognizable social groups in the District. The Capital Club hosts a wide variety of social events in Washington and beyond, the majority of which occur on an annual basis. In addition to its many social events, the Capital Club draws upon its nonprofit status to support a number of other charitable organizations.
Introduction
Among its charitable activities, the Capital Club actively supports the Trey Lefler Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial support for students at Sewanee: The University of the South. Over the years, the Capital Club has held multiple charity golf tournaments to benefit the fund. The Trey Lefler Memorial Golf Classic most recently took place at the Musket Ridge Golf Club in Maryland and featured a two-man scramble format.
