DEDICATION

The 1986 LOKI is dedicated to our president of the past 10 years, DeWayne Rakes, who is retiring. President Rakes has guided Linn Tech through many accomplishments. During his tenure two new departments were established at the school. The College has received accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and has become a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. Additionally, Linn Tech won national recognition for its program to eliminate sex bias in technical education. And perhaps Mr. Rakes most far-sighted accomplishment has been the acquisition of land for the future development of a new campus expected to be started in 1986. Mr. Rakes will be missed and we wish him well.

COVER DESIGNER

In the fall, we had a Yearbook Cover Design Contest. Quite a few students participated, and the Yearbook Staff chose Nathan Calvin's design. Nathan is from Houston, Missouri and is enrolled in the first year Aviation program. Congratulations, Nathan!
