FAITH is a principle of ACTION
•Every action we take, temporal or spiritual is because we have FAITH
•It takes FAITH to stand up, because if you did not believe you could stand up, you would not even try.
•You would just sit there
GLENN NAKAE
When we do not believe we can accomplish something . . . . our belief takes form . . . . . we can’t accomplish it because we are unwilling to exercise our FAITH to make it happen
GLENN NAKAE
Remember the principle of FAITH? You are either moving
toward success or slipping into failure!
GLENN NAKAE
Best known for founding the fast-food chain
Kentucky Fried Chicken, Colonel Harland
David Sanders was born on September 9,
1890, in Henryville, Indiana.
GLENN NAKAE
After his father died when he was 6 years old, Sanders became responsible for feeding and taking care of his younger brother and sister.
GLENN NAKAE
Beginning at the age of 10, he held down numerous jobs, including farmer, streetcar conductor, railroad fireman and insurance salesman.
GLENN NAKAE
It takes an average of 10,000 hours of practice to be
successful
• At 3 hours a day that is 9.31 years.
• This statistic is something that is true, and something that is also false.
GLENN NAKAE
It is NOT true because it is NOT one year of
experience 9.31 times
It takes intelligence, talent, deliberate, dedicated time spent focusing on improvement and many times aptitude
GLENN NAKAE
At age 40, Sanders was running a service station in Kentucky, where he would also feed hungry travelers. When Sanders first began to serve meals to truck drivers at an old family dining room table wheeled into the front of his Corbin, Kentucky, service station in 1930, fried chicken was not on the menu because it took too long to prepare. His country ham and steak dinners proved so popular, however, that he soon opened Sanders’ Café across the street.
GLENN NAKAE
Remember the 10,000 hours?
It takes intelligence, talent, deliberate, dedicated time spent
focusing on improvement and
many times aptitude.
GLENN NAKAE
Harland Sanders was like most of us. He did not FOCUS his life But like us he was LEARNING from life.
GLENN NAKAE
My goal is to encourage you to USE your
intelligence and to encourage you to focus your
attention on
improvement GLENN NAKAE
It was at the Sanders Restaurant that he began to serve chicken fried in an iron skillet.
It was there in 1939 (Age 49) that the colonel used pressure cookers to perfect his quick-frying chicken coated in his secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices.
GLENN NAKAE
The 10,000 hours He was now getting an “Education” in what he could do, what he thought he could do, and what it would take.
GLENN NAKAE
After closing the restaurant in 1952 (Age 62), Sanders devoted himself to franchising his chicken business. He traveled across the country, cooking batches of chicken from restaurant to restaurant, striking deals that paid him a nickel for every chicken the restaurant sold. His first franchise sale went to Pete Harman of Salt Lake City. In 1952

Over the years read your Patriarchal blessing often.
As with any scripture, as you live your life greater meanings will unfold unto you.
Use your Patriarchal
blessing as a guide
GLENN NAKAE
Notice what Harland Sanders did. He did not just work in his life. He
EDUCATED himself on HOW to be a business man and to do what he
wanted to do better.
GLENN NAKAE
An education in life or through school, gives you options
to learn how to better manage your own business, or to qualify for employment to work for better companies where you will have a future.
GLENN NAKAE
Sanders was 65 and reliant on a $105-a-month Social Security check when he incorporated Kentucky Fried Chicken and began driving his 1946 Ford (an 11 year old car) around the country signing up new franchisees. With more than 600 franchised outlets, he sold his interest in the company for $2 million to a
group of investors in 1964 (Age 74)
GLENN NAKAE
REMEMBER THE 10,000 HOURS?
Age 40 started cooking at a gas station
Then opened a restaurant where he perfected is skill at cooking chicken for 22 years, and created a method where anyone could duplicate his chicken so he could sell the method.
GLENN NAKAE
Only when be had educated himself and perfected his skills was he able to BECOME more than a restaurant owner.
NOTICE it still took him 12 more years before he had 600 franchises and as able to sell the business.
GLENN NAKAE
Harlan Sanders could have remained just a cook who owned a restaurant.
He CHOSE at AGE 65, to start a new life.
WAS IT WORTH IT TO START OVER AGAIN?
GLENN NAKAE
IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO WORK TO BECOME WHAT YOU WANT TO BECOME. . . . . YOU WILL REMAIN WHAT YOU ARE!!
GLENN NAKAE
LIFE IS ABOUT AGENCY
WE CHOOSE WHAT WE WILL BECOME
THE KEY IS TO CHOOSE TO BECOME
WHAT GOD WOULD HAVE YOU BECOME
GLENN NAKAE
When was the last time you read your patriarchal blessing? Are you living the principles that will bring you the promised blessings?
GLENN NAKAE
MOST of us choose to become NOT what we would like to become NOR what GOD would have us become.
We all have obstacles in our lives. Many of us live our lives like water and CHOOSE to take the path of least resistance.
GLENN NAKAE
What is your excuse? Remember the principle of FAITH?
FAITH is a principle of ACTION.
If we do not believe we can do something, we can’t. No FAITH no ACTION

By 2011, Arce was making $300,000 to $400,000—she won’t give the exact amount—and had been promoted to vice president. She replaced her fake green card with a real one

We CAN choose to FOLLOW the path God would have us follow And BECOME what GOD would have us become.

GLENN NAKAE
At age 65 Harland Sanders’ life of hard work had trained him what it took to succeed. Then he took his life’s lessons and CHOOSE to have faith and BECAME what he dreamed he could become.
GLENN NAKAE
Remember ALL people have FAITH.
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE choose to exercise their faith.
FAITH MAKES THINGS HAPPEN
