THINKING ABOUT FIBRES

Unravel one to find out, what do you see?

• If you were to look at your closet at home, what would your closet be made up of? Natural fibres? Manufactured fibres?

• What are Fibres?

• A Fibre is the basic unit that makes fabric. It’s usually grouped and twisted together to form a continuous strand, called a yarn. Yarns can be woven or knitted together to make fabric.

• Fibres are classified according to their source or origin. Natural fibres come from natural sources, such as plants and animals.
