593 total fatalities in crashes involving 15-to-20-year-olds in CA in 2008

Crash rate for 16-year-olds is 3.7 times higher than drivers of all ages

Citation rate for 16-year-olds is 1.8 times higher than drivers of all ages

More Statistics:

52.7% of violations for 16-to-19-year-olds were for speeding

35.3% of fatal injury crashes were caused by unsafe speed

The had-been-drinking crash rate for 16-year-olds is 1.8 times higher than drivers of all ages.

Men (almost two times that of females)
