TECHNICAL DETAILS OF HOLLOWCORE SLAB SYSTEM Hollowcore floor planks are precast, prestressed elements produced on a long-line bed using a
slide-forming machine imported from Echo Company in Belgium.
Echo Pre-stress is a system of pre-stressed slip formed hollow core concrete floor panels, used for
ordinary villas as well as multi-storey buildings, produced to the highest standards of quality .
Planks are normally 1200 mm wide. Thicknesses that are produced by Darin range from 150 mm
to 300 mm, .
The casting bed lengths are generally between 122 m, made of steel. The beds are usually heated
from underneath to shorten the curing cycle and ensure daily production. The planks are saw-cut
on the bed to the required lengths.
A 50 mm to 65 mm thick topping of concrete is placed on-site for composite-action and a level
floor surface.
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY: Structural integrity of Hollowcore slabs with the Cast-in-Situ beams is achieved by
Providing a layer of 50 mm to 65 mm thickness of In-situ screed of 35 Mpa (Cube strength).

OPENINGS (CUT-OUTS) IN HOLLOWCORE SLABS:
Openings which are away from support are cut half-half in 2 slabs (equal in width) as illustrated
below:
Openings which are near the support can be cut for a larger width in one slab itself and rest of the
cores in slab are filled with grade 35 Mpa concrete up to a distance of 1 m. as illustrated below:
