take time to think

Our lives are so automatedthat we barely have time tothink. For the most part,

we’re like robots going through themotions of life. Routine is good but ifwe get too bogged down to livingwithout thinking, we will never liveup to our full potential.

One of the enemy’s tactics is to keepus so preoccupied in the present thatwe don’t have any time to reflect onthe future. This is one of the reasonswhy many people miss heaven.Don’t misunderstand me. Humanbeings are creatures of habit and ifwe have good habits, it can work toour advantage. But it will do us allgood if we take time to quieten ourminds and think on a regular basis,or even daily.

NASA claims that one supernovablasts out more energy in less thanthe sun is expected to emit over itsentire life span. A single explosioncan outshine an entire galaxy. Imag-ine that! God flung the sun and gal-axies into place. When we think, wealign ourselves with God’s explosiveenergy. We also allow God’ssurpassing creativity to work withinus. When we yield to the Holy Spirit,we activate the ultimate supernovaof God’s creative power working in,and through, us to change theworld.

Back in 1903, women only worelong dresses and they weren’t evenallowed to vote. On trips to NewYork City, Mary Anderson oftentraveled by streetcar. On one of

these trips, Mary noticed that driverswould often get out of their seats towipe the windshield so they couldsee better. This put her mind tothinking and searching for a betterway.

After making many attempts, Marydesigned a manually operated leverinside the streetcar that, whenpulled, would swing an arm over thewindshield and – swoosh – allow thedriver to see again! Her windshieldwipers had rubber blades attachedto a spring-loaded arm. It solved theproblem of a clear windshield in rainand snow. At first, people made funof her device but when Mary Ander-son patented her device in 1905,they stopped laughing. Now com-puterized, we can adjust windshieldwipers to suit our needs. Mary An-derson gave us a great inventionbecause she took the time to think.

One of the global assets Americahas is innovation. We love to comeup with new and better ideas ofsolving an old problem in a new ormore efficient way or to simplycreate something new. How aboutyou? Are you taking time out to thinkof creative ways to energize yourrelationships and give your childrena brighter future? What about yourbusiness? Are you justmanufacturing, selling, installing,and servicing? Or are you takingtime to think? If we take time to meeta client’s need in a creative way,we’ll get more out of our business.Remember, the devil drives but God

leads. Are you paying attention toHis guidance?

Jesus was a creative thinker. Hewasn’t trying to be different but Hewas always in tune with the HolySpirit. Once, a blind man wasbrought in front of him. The Biblesays, “He spit on the ground, madesome mud with the saliva, and put iton the man’s eyes” (John 9). It was agood thing that the man was blindor else Jesus may not have had achance to perform this miracle.Seriously, Jesus said He only didthings that His Father told Him todo! Truth is, the Father is still tryingto tell us things but maybe we’re toobusy to listen? When we hear God’sout of the box solutions, we write itoff thinking, “Nobody will buy that.”However, just the opposite is true.

Friend, today I want to challenge youto take time to think. Establish aregular habit to hear from God. Notjust early in the morning or at aquiet place by the lake duringvacation, but stay open to hearingHis voice throughout the day.There’s a better way and God wantsto give it to you to propel you to yournext level. Stop long enough to thinkand expect God to give youinnovation like Mary Anderson sothat you too can transform yourmarriage, business, and future. Ilove you and I’m praying for you!
