DESCRIPTION
The better crucial passages are understood in the Magic Flute, the deeper will be the readers’ grasp of the entire work and its symbolism. It is also especially important to understand its central symbol in terms of its origin and use by regular Masonry and by other secret societies and brotherhoods in Mozart’s Vienna. In view of this the author analyses the origin and background of particular symbolic aspects to reveal a clearer understanding of the work.
