Świętokrzyskie VoivodeshipThe province was created on 1 January 1999, out

of the former Kielce Voivodeship,eastern part of Częstochowa Voivodeship and western part

of Tarnobrzeg Voivodeship, pursuant to the Polish local government reforms adopted in

1998.

• It’s the oldest mountains in Europe. The two highest peaks are Łysica, 612 meters and Łysa Góra, 593 meters.

• Świętokrzyski National Park is a National Park in Świętokrzyskie voivodeship in central Poland. It covers the highest ridge of the Świętokrzyskie (Holy Cross) Mountains.

• The Capital and the largest city in Świętokrzyskie is Kielce. The city is located in the middle of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. In this city lives 200 983 people. Copper and red sandstone formerly were taken from the area, now the site of the Świętokrzyski National Park, established in 1950. In Kielce we have also 2 universities:
