Graduation Requirements and Credits

• Must complete 220 Credits– 4 year English– 2 years of Math (10 credits from Algebra)– 2 years of History (1 year W. Hist. 1 year U.S. History)– 1 semester Government, 1 semester Economics– 2 years of Science ( 1 yr. Life, 1 yr. Physical)– 2 years of P.E. – 1 year of Fine Art OR Foreign Language– 1 semester of Health

• Must Pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

Grading/Semester Timelines• Approximately 8 weeks left until the End of the Semester• Thanksgiving Break/Christmas Break

– This means:• Work hard and catch up• Do assignments you’ve missed• Try your best• Envision your future• Don’t forget to rest

Academic Success Tips• Attend classes• Do homework• Complete class work• Ask teachers for help when needed• Write down assignments in Agenda• Bring appropriate materials to class• Schedule study time• Takes notes and review them• Make flashcards if needed

Mapping Out A Plan• Create Goals

– Set a goal for the grades you want (D- being the minimum for graduation purposes)

– Set goals daily and weekly…one step at a time– Have an ultimate goal (for example – GRADUATION)– Make goals that are Dated-Achievable-Personal-Positive-and Specific– Create “Personal Strategies” on how to execute your goals– See your counselor if you need any help in this process
