Joint Project Between;Year 12

Ravensbourne Art Students - UK,

and Pre School KIES Students - INDIA

Faisal is 9 years old and is another of the school’s Home Visit students. Here he is learning to walk with help from our Occupational Therapist, Brightlin. He likes looking at flashing lights and colourful objects.

Primary Source Drawings

This is a range of primary source drawings which include bold, bright colours which is what my subject likes the most.

Secondary Source Drawings

These are two of my best primary source drawings, the elephant represents the bright colours and the Taj Mahul represents his country of origin – India.

Indian ArtThis is a page where I have researched Indian art – to give myself an Idea of how to construct and compose my painting.

Portrait Of Faisal This is my

Portrait of the child, It has bright colours and the smaller pictures represent his home country of India. I merged together the Indian elephant and bright colours so that it was suitable for him.

Feedback

Faisal

‘The biography of Faisal represented a difficult challenge and I am impressed by the use of wider secondary material here to make this image engaging and attractive. The detailing on the elephant is particularly good and the peacock is simple but effective. The portrait of Faisal has been handled sensitively and captures him well. I am not sure what the flag in the top corner represents however’

I received feedback from the school that my child attends and this is what they wrote. This gave me a chance to modify any changes that needed to be done, such as the fact that they didn’t understand one of my smaller paintings on the child portrait. So I changed this, to their satisfaction.
