How the topic got brought up?

Based on University of Exeter's research, they found that scam victims and near-victims put more cognitive effort than non-victims.

Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that people who talk on the phone with scammers for over a minute are much more likely to fall for said scam.

What the argument is about?Ignacio's side

Vincent claims that 10% of Fresno/Clovis population will not pick up the phone. Of the 90% that do pick up the phone, 90% of those will hang up within one minute of talking to a scammer.

Yosef disagrees with that assessment on the assumption that there are more stupid people than that.

Yosef believes over 9% will continue talking to a scammer for over a minute.

How I collected my sample data?

I used the current 2011-2012 Fresno/Clovis phonebook.

Chose 120 people randomly. Pretending to be a con artist, I called these

people and recorded the length of the conversation.
