Dear Parents, Welcome back to Term 4 Welcome back to Term 4 and the final eleven weeks of the 2014 school year. What a busy time of the year this is for our school. Keep an eye on future newsletters as they will con-tain details about upcoming events. School Review Every four years, schools are required to un-dertake a comprehensive review of their per-formance against the School Strategic Plan. Over the past 6-months the school has been working on its Self-Evaluation. School self-evaluation provides an opportunity for the whole school community, including students, parents and all staff, to reflect on student out-comes in light of their goals, targets and key improvement strategies from the previous planning cycle. This includes examining teaching and learning strategies, the perfor-mance and development culture and other aspects of school operations so they can be strengthened and supported to improve stu-dent outcomes. This week, members of the staff, students, parents and school council participated in the school review along with an accredited school reviewer (Bruce Kiloh) and two local principals (Kerrie Dowsley – St Al-bans Secondary College & Charles Branci-forte – Keilor Views PS). The purpose of the review was to reflect on our outcomes against our current Strategic Plan and assisting to de-velop new goals, targets and key improve-ment strategies for the 2015-2018 School Strategic Plan. I would sincerely like to thank the parents who were able to give up some of their time to be part of the review process: David Hernandez, Jessica Fernandez, Roy

Students compete at District Athletics
On Friday, August 29th, 50 keen and aspiring athletes competed in the
St Albans District Primary Schools Athletics Carnival. The students were proud
to represent our school in the event which was held at the Keilor Athletics
Track.
They competed in a number of athletics events, including 100, 200 and 800
metres running, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put and relay.
The students had been preparing for the Carnival over the last few weeks prac-
tising for their events and were excited about competing against students from
other schools.
Our team was eager to do their best on the day and we saw many fantastic performances.
25 students gained places in their events, with some of them placing in more than one event.
Gloria was a star winning all four of her events-100, 800, hurdles and 4×100 relay. Others to
gain 1st places in their event included Elleni, Gift, Shalom, Lance, Austin, Kyle and Leisha.
At the end of the day when all the points were tallied, we found that we were just 3 points be-
hind the winning school, St Augustines, in 2nd place. This is our best performance for many
years. All students who represented our school should be congratulated on their fantastic effort,
as well as their behaviour during the day.
