Adult Ministry and Faith Formation:
Because our faith is too rich and too beautiful to have ever learned it all…
Adult faith formation at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living “The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and decision. To enable adults to explore the faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to come together in a learning environment. As a diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have learned along the way.
Adult Ministry at St. Paul’s—Meeting you Wherever you Are
St. Paul’s offers a wide variety of ministries and programs to help community members grow in faith regardless of where they are on their journeys. If you are someone just returning to the faith, we have a small group for you. If you are interested in learning more about becoming Catholic, we have something for you, too. If you are active in your faith but feel like you have still more growth to achieve, we have programs for you, too. All these programs are being offered online using Zoom. If you have a need that you think we aren’t meeting, let us know so we can work together to help accomplish that. Contact Heidi for more info: hclark@stpaulcatholic.org or 281-333-3891, ext. 328.
For those Considering Catholicism Our RCIA program is created specifically to welcome seekers at any time throughout the year. If you feel like God is calling you to learn more about becoming Catholic, now is a great time to respond to that call. Our RCIA program is currently meeting online, and we have options to help regardless of what your availability might be. Contact Heidi at hclark@stpaulcatholic.org or call 281-333-3891, ext. 328.
New Bible Study for Women Evening and Morning Options Available
Our always-popular women’s Bible studies are wrapping up for the summer, but we are looking forward to another amazing offering beginning in September. The book we’ll be using is called Discovering our Dignity, another of the inspiring Bible studies for women offered by Walking with Purpose. We are pleased to offer two online sessions of this 22-week study beginning the second week of September: Monday evenings starting Sept. 14, from 6:30-8 p.m., or Tuesday mornings starting Sept. 15, from 9:30-11:15 a.m. You can purchase Discovering your Dignity directly from the Walking with Purpose website for $40. Register by contacting Heidi at hclark@stpaulcatholic.org or call her at 281-333-3891, ext. 328 or hclark@stpaulcatholic.org
New Moms Group Forming
Moms have always benefited from supportive friendships, and during a pandemic, the need is even greater. We are happy to offer a brand new online group for both moms and moms-to-be to find friends, share the joys and challenges of parenthood, and grow together in faith. The group—aimed primarily at pregnant moms and moms of children up to grade school age—is focused on welcoming moms and giving them fun and interesting topics to discuss and ways to connect. The first meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday evening, August 12, from 8-9 p.m. Contact Heidi if you’d like to participate: hclark@stpaulcatholic.org or 281-333-3891, ext. 328.
SUPPORT VOCATIONS COMMITTEE Our Vocations Committee exists to promote and support vocations in our parish. They do this by celebrating those
among us who have answered the call to religious life, encouraging young people to consider a religious vocation, and in other creative ways. To help fund their efforts, the
committee has created a book called My Little Photo Album of My Church featuring photos and explanations of our clergy and key features of our beautiful church. These make perfect gifts for young children or grandchildren. If
you’d like to support the committee’s efforts, please contact Myra Banke at mbanke@comcast.net or call 770-289-8415. The cost for the book featuring 25 photos and explanations is $20/book. The books will also be on sale
after first communion celebrations
MEN’S FRIDAY RISE CONTINUES Despite the need for social distancing, many groups and ministries continue to meet online and in other, creative ways. Among them is the weekly men’s Rise group which meets online via Zoom from 7-8 a.m. on Friday mornings. They discuss that weekend’s scripture readings, opportunities for service, and share aspects of their faith journeys. If you’d like more information about joining them, contact Marcus at 832-250-3897 or Brian at 713-560-8412. Newcomers are always welcome!
