carry tremendous intrigue withGermany facing France in arematch of their Women's WorldCup quarterfinal, and Englandtaking on Germany, the team itdefeated in the third-place matchof the Women's World Cup.Additional notes:

* The USA is 19-4-7 all-timeagainst Germany and 2-0-0against West Germany in match-es played in 1988 and 1990. Themost recent meeting between theteams came on June 30 inMontreal as the USA defeatedGermany 2-0 in the 2015Women's World Cup semifinalon goals from Carli Lloyd andKelley O'Hara.
