SPANISH EDUCATION SYSTEM
• The current education system in Spain isknown as LOE after the Ley Orgánica deEducación.
• Education in Spain iscompulsory
free from 6 to 16
SPANISH EDUCATION SYSTEM
There are four levels:
• 0-3 years is optional.
• Pre-school: 3 to 6 years.
• Primary School: 6 to 12 years.
• Compulsory Secondary Education: 12 to16 years.
AFTER SCHOOL
• Spanish Bachillerato is the post-16 stage of education.
– Sciences and Engineering– Social Sciences– Humanities– Arts
• PAU (Selectividad)
• University: the normal duration for university courses is 4 years.
TYPES OF SCHOOLS
Schools in Spain can be divided into 3 categories:
• State schools.
• Privately run schools funded by the State.
• Purely private schools.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS
• There are 25 students per 1 teacher but ifthere is a handicapped student in the group ofstudents, the amount of students decreases.
