Welcome to this week’s South Wagga Bulletin.
I would like to start the bulletin with congratulations to Mrs Jessica Dillon who has been
appointed to a full time teaching position at South Wagga Public School. Mrs Dillon was
appointed through the merit selection process and will take up her permanent position at the
start of 2016.
With the end of the year quickly approaching (believe it or not this time next month we will all
be on holidays) there are a number of important school events taking place. Parents are
reminded to look in the coming events section of the Bulletin and to take notice of popups sent
through the school app to their smart phones and tablets.
With the Corroboree becoming less and less popular over the past three years the staff decided
to try something new and in 2015 we will not be printing a Corroboree School Magazine as in
past years. South Wagga will be going digital in 2015 to see if a digital magazine proves to be
more popular than the printed one. The new digital South Wagga School Magazine will have lots
more photos (every child will be in the digital magazine), music and more colour. The work load
for the staff is about the same but cost will be much less as there will not be any printing costs.
In closing I would like to congratulate all of the Year 5 students who nominated as candidates for
the 2016 School Captains and Vice Captains. The students took the task of writing and presenting
their speeches very seriously and performed superbly. Every year I am impressed with the effort,
skill and ability of the students to write and present their speeches and this year was no
exception. One of the most pleasing things was to see the encouragement and support the
students gave to each other with pats on the back, handshakes and encouragement. This
support of each other showed the true character of the students at South Wagga Public and the
high level of respect they have for each other.
Now that votes have been counted all we can do is wait for Presentation Night to find out which
students have been elected. Until next week.
