WORK EXPERIENCES

The Aboriginal Cultural Centre aims at awakening people’s imagination using movements at key points where physical remains of the historic, geographic and future layer collide. The concept is derived from the link between the aborigines and ‘The Dreaming’ in relation toto balance between the spiritual, natural and moral elements of the world. The dreaming arts are outlined with dancing circles and often surrounded with a mass of dots which are the core elements of the design.

TheThe interior will be ample and pemeable,embracing the viewing of the sea as its background connecting each other into a cohesive whole. Other facilities in the centre include an exhibition space, a performance space,space, a public workshop, a silent room and a restaurant.

The undulating art and culture venue designed for education and interactions, aiming to harness the strong cultural identity with a delicate dramatic effect to adapt to the changes of modern art and theatre.

Located on Sydney’s most famous beach, Bondi Pavilion is reputed as the iconic building in Bondi. The Aboriginal Cultural Centre will act as the landmark for the city, to join culture, art and nature in an integrated environment.environment. the concept explores the contrast between momentary and continual through the insertion of a new design proposal into an exisiting heritage building. The main idea is to manipulate the transient of the history through the concept of layerings the past to create a positive space for communal design school. communal design school.

The simplicity of the structures of the building were employed with the horizontal and vertical elements of the repetitive columns and continuous walls.Inspired by Peter Zumthor’s timber design, the floor standard is blurred by the vertical stacking patterns prostruding from the groundground level rose up to the ceiling providing an inspiring space for both exhibition and education.The spaces are linked by staircases with the use of chalked oak timber in repetitive manner. The building it self is opened and transparent whereas all the levels are benefitedbenefited from the windows and the front facade filters the daylight and create an atmosphere of concentration.

the spaces are linked by staircases directed through hanging artworks which hanged through the voids. the main intention for the space is to use sustainable materials in its untreated manners to reflect the concept of the design such as chalked oak timber and concreteconcrete to complement the concept design of the building rather than competing to each other. the dense vertical stacking blurs the standard of floor levels creating patterns in each each floor recedes with respect to one above and below it. daries and concreteconcrete flooring are maintained. the building itself is opened and transparent whereas each levels are benefited from the windows and front facade filters the daylight and create an atmosphere of concentration. The gallery has a distinct appearance from thethe outside, as gallery visitors unknowingly pass through visual “frame” in the space and transformed into moving art.
