GENERAL INFORMATION We are happy to welcome you at this year´s CLEaR2016 international conference in Prague, the Czech Republic. We hope you will enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere of both the city and the conference. REGISTRATION Registration/Information desks are situated as follows: 15 September 2016; 9:00 – 12:00 – building of the Czech Academy of Sciences (AV ČR), 2nd floor,
the foyer in front of the rooms 205 & 206 (address: Národní 3, Prague).
16 September 2016; 9:00 – 12:00 – building of the Czech Academy of Sciences (AV ČR), 2nd floor, the foyer in front of the rooms 205 & 206 (address: Národní 3, Prague).
Available at the registration/information desk will be: - conference programmes and badges, - conference bags, - certificates of attendance and invoices, - general information about the conference, - local information.
GENERAL
1. The CLEaR2016 conference is held in historical rooms equipped with authentic carpets and goblins. Therefore, the building managers kindly ask all participants not to eat or drink in the conference rooms. Thank you for your understanding!
2. Smoking is prohibited inside all conference rooms. The building provides visibly labelled smoking areas.
3. Please turn your mobile phones/cell phones off during plenary lectures and sessions. 4. Prague is a very safe and friendly city. Nevertheless, you should always watch your belongings
and take care of your security. We regret that no responsibility can be taken by SlovakEdu, o. z. for the loss of personal belongings or for accidents.
ACCESS TO THE CONFERENCE In order to have access to the conference area, you should always wear the official badge that will be given to you during the registration process upon your arrival. This badge will allow you to have access to the conference rooms, to their related coffee break areas, and to the social events. Please, note the room capacity for each session, indicated in the conference programme. Access to sessions is strictly by badge only and is on a first-come-first-served basis. Should you lose or forget the badge, please, inform our staff at one of the registration desks. INTERNET ACCESS The free internet access (via wifi) for all CLEaR2016 participants will be provided in all the conference rooms. PHOTOGRAPHIC/VIDEO DOCUMENTATION The conference photographers will be taking photographs for the purposes of conference documentation on our website. If you do not wish your photographs/shots to be used, please inform the conference photographer at the time. On September 16, 2016 during a morning coffee break (10:00-10:20) the CLEaR2016 Group Photo of all participants is planned to be taken. Please, try to be present in the foyer in front of the conference rooms at that time.
COFFEE BREAKS All registered attendants (with conference badges) are invited to join the coffee snacks in the foyer in front of the conference rooms. Tea, coffee and small refreshment will be served free of charge. Attendants can also stroll and enjoy numerous local cafés, bars and restaurants within easy walking
distance. On September 16, 2016 during a morning coffee break (10:00-10:20) the CLEaR2016 Group Photo of all participants is planned to be taken. Please, try to be present in the foyer in front of the conference rooms at that time.
LUNCH BREAKS Meals are not covered by the conference fee. You can stroll and enjoy the real Prague atmosphere in numerous local cafés, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, including some of the most famous cafés and restaurants with a long and distinct history (e.g. Vaclav Havel´s preferred Café Slavia - www.cafeslavia.cz, or Franz Kafka´s favourite Café Louvre - http://www.cafelouvre.cz/, or Karel Čapek´s frequented Národní Kavárna - http://www.narodnikavarna.cz). All of them are within a walking distance of app. 5 -10 mins. from the conference venue.
STRAHOV MONASTERY EXCURSION (http://www.strahovskyklaster.cz/en) CLEaR2016 attendants with registrations A, B, E, and F are invited to join the guided tour of Strahov Monastery. Other participants can join the group on request (please, consult CLEaR2016 staff at the registration desk). Meeting point: 16 September 2016, 15:30 in front of the AV ČR, Národní 3, Prague. The tour will take app. 2 hours and will be guided in English. It includes the walking tour via the Charles Bridge and Malá Strana Quarter (app. 30 mins.). Strahov Monastery (Czech: Strahovský klášter) or The Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov is one of the oldest monasteries of the Premonstratensian Order in the world. It has been a working monastery ever since it was founded in 1143. Fire, the Hussite Wars, religious wars, and the Communists all failed to shut down this institution. The famous Strahov Library and the reopened Strahov Picture Gallery are cultural institutions proving to the world that the Strahov Premonstratensians have always cared for the development of culture and education.
PRAGUE GUIDED TOUR (17 SEPTEMBER, 10:00 - 14:00) CLEaR2016 attendants with registrations A and E are invited to join the guided tour of historical centre of Prague. Other participants can join the group on request (please, consult CLEaR2016 staff at the registration desk). The meeting point: 10:00 in front of the AV ČR, Národní 3, Prague. The tour combines a minibus ride and walking and will be guided in English. Places to be seen include: the Prague Castle and Hradcany, Mala Strana (Lesser town), the Charles Bridge, the Czech National Theatre, the Kampa Island, the "John Lennon wall", the Old Town area, the Jewish Quater, the Old Jewish Cemetery (from the outside), the Old-New Synagogue, the Wenceslaw Square, the New Town, the Municipal House of Prague, the Old Town Square and the famous astronomical clock, the Prague City Hall, the Rudolfinum, the Charles Square, the New Town hall, the The Church of Prague Infant, the Lorretto, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and more.
