HOW TO DRAW MANGA

THE HEAD

STEP 1

1. Draw a bog standard regular circle

STEP 2

1. Draw a line horizontally through the centre of the circle

2. Draw another halfway between line 1 and the circumference

3. Finally draw the final line going across the edge of the circumference

STEP 3

1. Draw a line vertically through the centre of the circle

2. Then on the outside of the circle draw a diagonal line leaning backwards

STEP 4

1. Draw the shape of the ear between the centre horizontal line and the halfway horizontal

2. Then carefully draw the jaw line having the curvature join the centre vertical line and the point of the jaw touching the vertical diagonal line

3. Finally draw in the mouth, nose and shape of skull, make sure they do not touch the original circle but that it stays roughly parallel instead.

STEP 5

1. Like with the ear draw the shape of the eye on the other side of the centre vertical line and closely towards the diagonal

2. Then draw the eyebrow what ever expression you like, above the half way horizontal in line with the eye

STEP 6

1. Finally thicken the eyebrow by teardrop shaping on the left

2. Then draw in two nice big circles one inside the other to cover most of the inside of the eye socket. Colour the inside circle in black make sure to leave a white circle/oval in one section of the pupil to add realism.
