The Stains of Sin• “Come now, let us reason together, says

the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.”

(Isaiah 1:18)

Finding and Realizing Forgiveness- The first blood shed -

- The shredding of blood for sacrifice -

- Christ became your perfect lamb -

- Resurrection will take place when you take action -

The First Blood Shed• The first blood shed in the Bible was by God

to cover Adam and Eve.

– When their eyes were open, they saw they were naked and clothed themselves in fig leaves. (Genesis 3.7)

The First Blood Shed• God made for them tunics of skin to cover

them. (Genesis 3.21)

• There is always blood shed to cover sins. (Hebrews 9.22)

Blood Shed for Sacrifices• The necessity of sacrifices were seen by

Able and Cain. (Genesis 4)

• Leviticus 4-6 details the blood offerings to cover the people.

Christ Became the Perfect Lamb

• The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1.29)

Why would Christ shed his own blood?

– “without blemish” is found approx. 39 times in the OT.

– “without spot: is found approx. 6 times
