Golden Gate Bridge & Park
The symbol of San Francisco, theGolden Gate Bridge is a must see
when visiting San Francisco.Whether you drive, bike, or walk
across it or just take picturesfrom the park below, you cannot
pass up seeing one of the Wondersof the Modern World. The GoldenGate Park offers amazing views of
the ocean, Alcatraz island, andthe bridge. It's a great place to
have a picnic, toss around afrisbee or go for a walk.
Fisherman's Wharf
One of the most popular tourist destinations in the city, Fisherman'sWharf offers lots to do. From Pier 39, to Cannery Shopping Center, to
Ghirardelli Square, and the San Francisco Maritime national HistoricalPark, you can spend an entire day wandering around this exciting
neighborhood.
Alcatraz Island
Located a mile and a half offshore of San Francisco, Alcatraz is anamazing historical site not to be missed. On the island there is a
lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison, and a federalprison. After the prison was closed, the island became a tourist
attraction. Landmarks to see on the island include the main cell house,dining hall, library, lighthouse, and the recreations yard.
Chinatown
San Francisco's Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in North Americaand the second largest Chinese community outside of Asia. Therestaurants located here are considered to be the birthplace of
Westernized Chinese cuisine. Interestingly, Chinatown draws morevisitors annually than the Golden Gate Bridge.
AT&T Park
Home of the San Francisco Giants, AT&T Park is a baseball field locatedright on the water. Behind the left field bleachers is the Coca-Cola FanLot, which features an 80-foot long Coca-Cola bottle with slides inside,
for both kids and adults, that lights up anytime a Giant hits a home run.Because of the parks proximity to the water, many fans like to rent
boats or kayaks and sit on the water, trying to catch home runs or foulballs.
Ghirardelli Square
Located in the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood of the city,Ghirardelli Square is a landmark public square with shops andrestaurants. There are many different shops and restaurantsto go to, but you can't miss out on the Ghirardelli chocolate.
