Windows vs Mac

• This is one of the places where the Mac and Windows procedures are different. We’ll look at the Windows method first, then the Mac

• There are videos for both Windows and Mac; links are posted

The Developer Tab (Windows)

• To work with VBA, you will need to have the Developer tab visible on the ribbon

• This is one of the things that differs in Excel 2007 and Excel 2010

• In Excel 2007, push the options button and check the box that says “Show Developer tab in ribbon” (picture on next slide)

• In Excel 2010, right click on the tab part of the ribbon, choose the “Customize Ribbon” option, and check the box to show the developer tab

• There are actually several ways to do this; this is one I like

• Under the Excel menu, choose Preferences• In the window that appears, choose Ribbon• In the customize screen that comes up in the

middle of the resulting window, check Developer
