in the predawn praying hush of silence
left behind the old dream footprints & I
a bed flat on my back cold winter night
below the neon light a trembling flower
deeply into the wet tundra a happy sun
no homeless in the bird’s womb stones

spring buds into the morass of summer
still so awake anywhere else day moon
