supplier FCI Austria in Bergheim and since then has taken

on all of the shipping logistics processes. This allows FCI

Austria to concentrate fully on its core processes.

The Challenge

FCI Austria GmbHFCI Austria is part of the globally active FCI Group which

has its headquarters in France. At the Mattighofen site (Aus-

tria) the company produces plug connectors and control

components for renowned automobile brands. In total the

FCI Group has subsidiaries in 30 countries and 14,000 em-

ployees worldwide. In Mattighofen near Salzburg, around

400 employees achieve an annual turnover of around 70

million euros.

sourcing improves competitiveness and reduces costs.

With this in mind and considering that spatial resources

were required for production, FCI Austria decided to trans-

fer the shipping logistics entirely to a service provider.

When choosing the logistics service provider, the company

paid close attention to a customer-oriented logistics and

control principle and that the globally required framework

requirements for the shipping processes of FCI Austria are

met. A fundamental requirement was also that the service

provider works on the company’s ERP system. Since 2008,

Gebrüder Weiss has controlled all of FCI Austria’s shipping

processing – from the production to the worldwide circle

of customers. In the logistics centre in Bergheim (Austria),

there are 800 pallet spaces available in the high-bay ware-

house and an area of 800 square meters for the shipping

processes.

From production to the warehouseA solution that is integrated in the production operation,

which ensures optimal support in the shipping process and

fast response times. In accordance with the automotive sup-

plier’s three-shift operation, Gebrüder Weiss is available to

FCI Austria six days a week with a shuttle service.

Target-oriented processesDynamic insourcing and outsourcing processes based on

supply chain management principles ensure short turna-

round times. The goods are available for the shipping pro-

cess from their posting to a warehouse space.

Customs clearanceFor land, air and sea transport, Gebrüder Weiss creates docu-

ments, handles the entire customs clearance and dispatches

transport units.

Service concept Fast and as ordered: delivery notification occurs within 24

hours. Goods which are consigned and packed by 12 mid-

day are ready for loading on the following day. High flexibility

and operational readiness also guarantee punctual provision

for urgent orders.

port of the fi nished products to the Bergheim logistics centre,

to the highly modern warehouse logistics and the distribution

of the goods to the company’s customers – Gebrüder Weiss

guarantees a thorough and effi cient logistics chain. The high-

performance network management also results in an increase

in effi ciency. The use of the latest software guarantees

synergy effects in a global network.
