Shape Cats

Today you are going to practice drawing basic shapes by creating a cat’s face!

Shapes we will be drawing include:

Tip: Practice drawing these shapes on a scrap piece of paper before starting your ca

Circle Semi-Circle *semi means half, so a semi-circle is half of a circle!

What shapes can you find when you look at this cat?

YOUR TURNYou will need:

Paper

Colors (anything you have at home is perfect!)

Step 1: Draw a large semicircle for the cats face.

Step 2: Draw two triangles on top of the semicircle for the ears.

Step 4: Add an upside down triangle to the bottom of the rectangle.

Step 3: Draw a rectangle coming down from the top of the head as part of the nose.

Step 6: Inside each oval draw a circle and add a small dot in the middle to finish the eyes.

Step 5: Draw two ovals on either side of the nose.

Step 8: Add some straight lines on each side of the face for the whiskers.

Step 7: Using curved lines, draw your cat’s mouth!

Step 10: Color in the background for a finished piece!

Step 9: If you want you can add a body and arms. Color in the cat with whatever colors you have.
